Hello. I have developed a severe case of Hives after my wife recently moved in. It's been going on for about a month now and is accompanied by a sore throat, chills, swollen throat and sometimes a tight chest. We talked about it and it seems possible that it's her Green Cheek Conure parrot. I've lived with him before, but he's a tiny little guy. anyway, is this just a skin allergy, or could it be Bird Fancier's Lung?
I don't think you have Bird Fancier's Lung. you would have to inhale a lot of dust from bird droppings. I would imagine you keep your little guys cage fairly clean. I have a African Grey, Nanaday Conure, Goffins Cockatoo and a Pionus all in the living room with me. I do have a huge living room. I have a lot of dander dust, no problems Yet. The other is from dried bird dust. The best thing you should do is consult a Dr. it is possible that you are allergic to the bird or you could have something like strep throat. See a Dr.
