Lately I have been getting rashes on my neck, shoulder and inner arms. How do I figure out if it is a food allergy or if it is being caused due to cosmetic products? is it possible for a person to develop an allergy to a beauty product that he or she has been using for over three years? please advise.Venkatesh S
From the symptoms and signs that you mention, it is difficult to ascertain the actual cause of your allergic reaction. it is best to visit your nearest dermatologist for the same. yes, it is possible to develop an allergy to anything that you are used to.
I am a 28-year-old girl and have clear skin till now. I have started getting disparate brown spots on my face. is this a sign of sun damage or early ageing? What can I do?Neetu Ramamurthy
Did you undergo pregnancy in the recent past? the problem that you are talking about could probably be “melasma” (the mark of pregnancy) or “freckles”. These occur due to increased production of melanin. These patches usually get darker when exposed to sunlight, during ones periods and during the times of undue stress. Use a good sunblock at least two to three times in a day; take supplements of anti-oxidants, Vitamin C, and folic acid. Lightening creams and chemical peels do help. Avoid sunlight, eat deep coloured fruits and lots of vegetables. Use lightening creams with berry extracts, arbutin, Vitamin C and glycolic acid which is an extract of sugarcane juice. Visit a dermatologist who will help you in solving this problem.
