I have a 8 month old american bulldog and he came in last night with hives so I gave him benadryl and this morning he was fine, then I put him outside again as usual and when I let him back in at 9 (I let him out around 7) he was covered in hives, worse than last night by far so I gave him bendaryl again and put him in his kennel. I have no idea what’s going on, he has also been caughing and has a runny nose. this has been going on for weeks now. I have a rott mix and she is just fine. the caughing sounds like a trachia collapsing, I used to have a shih tzu and it sounds like the same thing. I’m a college student and I have to save up for a few weeks before I can get him into the vet so any advice would be a huge help. Oh yeah, I haven’t changed his diet at all, so I’m sure it isn’t a food allergy.this is sad. I think he was bitten by a widow, I gave him benadryl and he is fine. HE IS ON ADVANTIX, AND JUST BECAUSE a DOG HAS HIVES DOENS’T MEAN THEY NEED TO GO TO THE VET!!! I’ve broken out in hives and I didn’t rush to the doctor, that is nonsense. I have also ordered him allery medicine online without a prescription. Also, 2 hours outside doesn’t hurt any dog.
