I have a serious relationship with my boyfriend however I live with him and his 3 dogs and 1 cat. I have a history of allergic reaction from the animal because of my weak immune system I break out in hives. Even when I was a child my hair fell out. I’m afraid if I stay with him long enough or even get married. I will be covered in hives, and then he probably wouldn't want me after that. What should I do?
Let me first say, I love my pets greatly. My guy and I have 2 dogs and a kitty. yet if someone loved me I should think my health would be upper most on his mind. have you discussed this with a doctor? There have been many new things for allergies. besides, you are putting the cart before the horse aren't you? you have never had a reaction yet. Perhaps, you have outgrown your allergy. so, see if you are still allergic. if so, consult a doctor. Good luck.
Tell him that you cannot be there with his pets because its killing you. He should understand……. plus, if you have a weak immune system i think you shouldnt resort to medications or shots. if you do want to try something to help your allergies, i definitely recommend ACUPUNCTURE for allergies. it permanently cured my friend's allergies……. let me know how it goes
That is a really hard situation. I'm allergic to my boyfriend's dog too. if you really love him you should tell him about this. Also see an allergist and maybe you can get allergy shots. in the mean time try taking benedryl or zyrtec. Good luck!
Michael Vick will be able to help you out here in a little bit.
On a serious note, if he knows your allergic, he should have found new homes for the pets by now. if he hasn't thought of that maybe you need to give him some hints.
i know what i would, get away as fast as you can. i suffer from allergies and i would never never put up with this. get a new boyfriend, obviously, this doesn't care very much.
you knew about the allergies & yet moved into his home. your choice should not force him to get rid of his pets. move into your own place and let him visit -he can change his shirt before entering your home. any other solution is purely selfish.
Well really, he should accept you whatever you look like, But pay a visit to your GP or allergist who may be able to help.
Go see an allergist and see if there is anything they can do.
