After you eat do you feel that pain of acid reflux kicking in? Do you long to find an Acid Reflux Relief? Something that will have you not suffering after a meal feeling as if you may be having a heart attack. Well there are ways that you can fight those symptoms and see the relief you have been hoping for. All it takes is some work and commitment to get it done.

After you have eaten you need to try and stay upright. No laying down after that big meal, because it may bring on your acid reflux. Wait around two or three hours to take that nap, and you will be just fine. If you are going to bed for the night, raise you head off the bed about six or eight inches for help.

Yes exercise is a great thing, and good for your health. But there are times after you have just gotten done eating that you should not exercise. You should instead wait for an hour after you are done eating and then exercise. This is especially true if you are planning on doing something that will have your stomach muscles constricting.

As with anything that bothers you in life, stress can be a big factor. Acid reflux is no different, so lowering your stress level can help out here too. Okay back to the weight thing, and why you may need to lose it. When you have extra weight around your stomach it will push on the muscles. Again this can cause them to contract and you to experience acid reflux.

There are going to be foods that you simply will not be able to eat, so get used to the idea. You may love your fried foods and just do not want to give them up. But until you do, that acid reflux will continue to act up. Also look into cutting out alcohol, coffee, onions, orange juice, spicy foods, and garlic.

Eating smaller portions and increasing the number of meals will usually help too. You may want to split up the portions and instead of having three meals a day, have around five or six. If you have a big meal to eat, have it at lunch time. That way you will not have to worry about wanting to take a nap after you have eaten.

Though most of these things will work on the symptoms if something is medically wrong they may not help out as much. In case you find little relief with these tips head in and see a doctor. Make sure that you do not have anything more serious going on.
